May 13, 2023 - Garnet, brick rim. Raspberry, cherry, strong smoke, game (smoked meat). Dry, mildly tart, leather, black pepper, butter, mushroom, paprika. Medium-full body, medium-high acid, smooth strong tannins, long smoked fruit finish.
Lovely aged Hermitage – legendary year and vineyard (now “Gréal” blend)!
Good bottle; fill was down to top of neck label, but cork was intact, barely.
Parker served the 1979 at a dinner party (2000: RP 94)!
    Birth year wine, probably last.
