September 29, 2023 - Tuscany WIMPS #169 29th September 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): The meatiest of the wines today. Some slow-cooked oxtail braise and a little olive brine on the nose with the faintest suggestion of peony. On pouring the palate seems a little tired but some air and with the food it seems to grow rather than fade. Fully mature but by no means in last chance saloon. Lovely savoury food wine that really complemented the veal.

October 23, 2022 - Shockingly still at it’s peak with no sign of tiring. Popped and poured and was a beautiful upgrade from a fabulous rancia. Ate with Stephanie’s ossi buco. Brunello does not get better than this

November 7, 2021 - Opened for 2 hours then double decanted for 15 min and began consuming one hour later.
The wine is clear, light red, some bricks on the edges. The body is medium at best, very dry, good acidity, low in fruit and just okay finish.
This may no particular bottle wasn’t showing great today. I don’t see too much left for this vintage/wine but some people like this style, not for me.
