March 24, 2024 - Took an hour of air to show some beautiful mix of dark and red fruits, spices, earthy minerals and liqueur on the nose, full body, medium acidity, grainy yet ripe tannins, decent fruit and long finish. No sign of the alc excited to see where this goes in the future

January 20, 2024 - Nose: rose, candy, mung beans, white pepper, hints of cherry
Notes: 14.5% ABV, the alcohol contents can be on the slightly high side for this area in general while it's quite difficult to find artisan winemakers here but Mayard is surely one of the new discoveries that are interesting. This is the second time tasting this wine and the notes are consistent. With an expressive nose of rose and candy this surely is very interesting and unusually good. Still a little tight despite 3 hours of breathing and it's not quite ready yet. More cellaring is definitely needed but I would say this is quite promising.

    November 11, 2023 - Quick Notes Series
This is an interesting and rare occasion where I can feel the rose petals aroma bulging out from the wine. I sometimes would refer this as the "expensive nose" because only some of the best makers are able to extract this sort of flavors and it is especially difficult when it's not Pinot based. Personally I find this to be very interesting and with some research I realized it's a new Domaine where the two brother has just split out from its family. I am excited to see the development of this Domaine. Clearly the 2021 is still very young and we shall except more after a couple of years.

May 27, 2023 - Splash decant. Very deep magenta color. Raspberry, limestone, lime rind, marigolds, and subtle underripe blueberry. Smooth, slightly tongue drying palate, with vibrant acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

I would have guessed this was a Pinot (Oregon or Burgundy) if tasting blind. Very light bodied for a CdP. It may deepen with time. Decent drinker overall, but not varietally correct IMHO.
