April 27, 2024 - Nothing nicer on a sweltering day than a chilled glass of Albarino – this one has a nice balance of green apple and melon aromas with mineral, honey, and sea-spray dimensions. The palate is more citrus-forward, with plenty of lemony acidity and white peach, and a finish that, while a bit metallic and bitter, fits the bill perfectly, somehow reminiscent of Chinese bitter gourd, but also saline and oh-so-refreshing. I can just imagine the rocky Spanish coast as I sip, and it was hard to resist ordering half a dozen Gillardeau oysters.

December 24, 2023 - Easy drinking. Not a lot of complexity but beautiful acidity with a slight bitterness to it. Not mineral driven but has minerality. I felt it had good balance. Unfortunately I only had 2 glasses as I shared it with two friends. Note to self. Buy another an give a fair assessment.

October 22, 2023 - Honeysuckle, soap, ripe white peach, lemon juice, ripe melon, aloe vera, fresh cut parsley and sea salt on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. Slightly frizzante on the palate, which adds bitter herbs, fennel seed, kiwi fruit and passion fruit and is overall more primary than the nose. The soap and salinity are gone. Intensity of flavors is medium +.

Medium + body (big for Albariño!) with medium + acid. Probably best to drink this now. I like where the acid is and I don't really see it going anywhere. Great pairing with fried calamari.

    September 28, 2023 - Deep lemon colour.

Fruity, yeasty with very ripe (fleshy kind of) fruit:
Pear, peach, orange, lemon, green apple & wet stone. Pretty aromas!
The pear focus and the fleshy ripe style makes me think of PG.

Bitey attack, with a grip felt upfront with high acidity, medium body. There’s a dense textural feel yet the fruitaromas feel shy on the palate (the grippy texture overshadows the notes of grapefruit, lemon, green apple).

Thus, the nose promises something that is not delivered on palate, yet I think it is only a matter of time before the fruit grows into shape to suit its big muscular clothes. There’s a full-on structure (almost umami-like) that makes wine feel too young right now.

July 31, 2023 - This is fresh, fragrant, and very citrus-driven with tones of banana leaf, apples, peach, lemon drop, vanilla beans, white flowers, crushed rocks, and saline. The Medium bodied feel is fresh with the citrus-forward nature of the nose carrying through along with racy, high acidity. This is a fun Albarino, but it doesn't bring as much depth as I would want.
