January 5, 2024 - Black cherries, blueberries, juniper berries, pine beedles, black licorice and a hint of plastic/reductivity on the nose. Medium intensity of aromas. The palate adds bitter herbs (like in Amaro), allspice and cocoa powder. In fact, the whole thing feels texturally powdery. No evidence of oak at all on this. Medium + intensity of flavors. Finishes with a burst of ripe strawberries.
Medium body with medium + acid and supple, medium + tannins that last longer on the palate than the medium finish. Overall this is fresh and bright with some depth too. It's very much a wine of place, with some complexity that isn't always found in Chianti DOCG. Great QPR as well at $15. Great pairing with spaghetti and meatballs.1 person found this helpful Comment
