March 1, 2022 - Arabba. Good stuff. Truffles and cedar and some cassis. Fruit thinning out a little. In comparison we had the 2014 and that one showed a surprising amount of maturity. And more fruit.

December 20, 2019 - My wife opened this on a week-day and drank a glass given the disappointing showing of the earlier bottle a few weeks back. As I took the rest of the bottle from the fridge the next day to try, my wife told me that this was a very good wine. And indeed this is head and shoulders above the last bottle. Dark garnet almost to the rim, a serious left bank Bdx style with good depth of dark fruit, iron, nice concentration and plenty of life ahead. Like an excellent but firm Pauillac or St. Julien (LLC?) in a good late eighties (88?) or 90s vintage. Excellent wine, and after a few disappointing mature Sassicaia bottles (incl 1990 and 1975) this clearly changed my view on the longevity of Sassicaia.

November 16, 2019 - Pizza at home on Saturday night. Bottle in very good condition with bottom neck fill and top of cork dry and clean. 40 min slow ox. A very healthy garnet with just the slightest browning at the rim. Rather muted on the nose, simple red and dark fruit on the palate, very dry with slightly elevated acidity, a touch of green peppers which seems to become more prominent with more air, initially very smooth palate but then medium (-) tannins appear as the wine opens. Clipped finish. Will not fall off the cliff anytime soon but also obviously no upside so would simply pnp.
A perfectly fine week-day Pizza wine, but of course a bit pricey for being just that... Similar to what my fellow taster stated below already, even if you need a 1993 vintage for some reason, which was a difficult year in Bordeaux too, you will find better and much cheaper options on the left and right bank of the Garonne. -

September 15, 2019 - Very good Bordeaux like wine. Pop´n´pour. Nice development during 2 hours after opening, starting with fruit, going over to wood/earth/etc., and ending with smooth, chocolate, sandelwood. Really a great wine but you get the same experience with Grand Cru Bordeaux at a third of the price of this Sassicaia - so nice experience but never again.
