September 19, 2023 - Strongly recommended by Costco wine steward, he was spot on. Delicious even without food. At $23 this is a premium weekday wine.

August 13, 2023 - Decant or give it some time in the cellar. Enjoyable bottle and a great value

August 2, 2023 - I drank this by itself. Slight note of vanilla, dark fruit, pleasant and lengthy finish. Medium acidity, medium tannins, full bodied, not super dry. Overall, a fantastic wine for a fantastic value. I would buy 10 more of these next time I go to Costco.

July 31, 2023 - Overall: hot, bitter, disjointed mess at the moment. Not much structure to speak of, either. This doesn’t seem to have the structure to improve with time but maybe with a year or two it’ll come together? This is unfortunate because I’ve liked a lot of the signature series cabs over the years.

Nose: plums, ripe blackberry, ripe cherry, black licorice that is a bit candied like now-and-laters, cocoa, pretty good punch of alcohol, slight butteriness if you’re looking for it

Palate: bitter, green tannins; full, coating body; noticeably alcoholic, dulling my taste buds; low perceived acid. There’s something medicinal, almost artificial, in the fruit, like cough syrup. Blackberries and plums are there but mostly I get something like cherry or grape cough syrup.

Finish: long and dry, bitter, and strongly alcoholic in the throat.
