May 14, 2020 - Mid garnet. Red fruits, woody spices. Mid-weighted with clean red fruits surrounded by mouth puckering tannins. Some spice and herbal elements add interest.

November 5, 2017 - I can’t agree with the other Luke warm posts about this wine. Closed on the nose, some Smokey dark fruit aromas. But in the mouth-wow-very rich, meaty, touch of spiciness too. Mouth-filling, good grip, long finish. This will improve over the next few years, still very youthful.

    Dunkles Rot Wasserrand
Kirschen,Erdbeeren,Laub, erdig, irgendwann mal leicht rosinig, traubig, malzig und eine Eisennote.
Anfänglich leicht prägnantere Säure, die sich aber gibt.Integrierte glatte Gerbstoffe, seidig, mittlerer Körper, irgendwie altbacken.
    Mittellanger erdiger Abgang
    Altbacken aber gefällt mir.

July 26, 2013 - PnP, served non-blind. One of the better 06's I've had (except for the ones I had on release) in the past few years, among those in this price/tier. Full, pretty aromas of sweet cherries, toasty oak, black tea and forest floor. Medium(+) body, with ample acids. Equally enjoyable on the palate as it is on the nose, with good delineation and an avg (+) persistence. Showing quite well at the moment; a welcome surprise on the night. Robert Kacher selection. 13,0% abv, drink thru 2016

October 7, 2012 - A touch austere, but eventually gives off a red fruit spectrum. Linear palate and fine finish.

February 17, 2012 - Bright red fruit over an almost crunchy acidity, typical of the vintage.

July 24, 2010 - Burgundy Pairings at Vineyardgate (Vineyardgate, Millbrae, CA): Soft, ripe fruit nose with black cherry, licorice and dried currants. Like the monopole this also comes across as surprisingly developed. Concentrated, earthy palate with good acids and slightly chalky tannins. A wild little wine, although an oddly out of place note of vanilla detracts. Bottle open 24 hours.
