December 29, 2011 - Some concern initially the bottle was corked, very mossy and Earth aromas before any hint of fruit. Definitely some oxidization at this age. Fruit was sour cherry and tart cranberry with some mineral/chalk. On second thought I'm rating this 75.

November 10, 2006 - Tasted it when first open and then about 15 and 30 minutes later. Had a delicate tart and mossy nose with flavors of caramel, sour cherry, and later a raisny flavor reminiscent of a Notapanaro. It didn't get a whole lot better after 30 mins. After that, the acidity started taking over the little of the fruit that was there. Glad I didn't let this go much longer!

March 3, 2006 - Took about a half hour to 45 minutes to open up. When it did, gave lovely notes of dried rose hips, forest floor funk (aka hints of white truffle and mushroom), aged balsamic, toasted almonds and caramel. Palate gave sour cherry, iron and copper notes, and that dark faintly tarry undertone of slovenian oak. Gromit, mtbakerseattle, and I drank this over about an hour and a half. I think we hit the sweet spot in terms of nose and flavor. I'd recommend dirnking this one very soon as I have my doubts it will hold for too terribly much longer.

December 2, 2004 - Roy Hersh's 1990 & older tasting of "Wines that don't suck" (Sammamish, WA, USA): I am not giving this a rating, as the bottle was showing clear notes of being oxidized with lots of caramel. Despite this, the palate was actually quite pleasant on a fresh pour with strawberry and balsamic giving way to cranberry. Very vibrant acidity. A number of people commented that this was their favorite of the three on a fresh pour.

(Il Colle Brunello di Montalcino Riserva) Bricking medium red color; ethereal, black fruit, dried berry, fig nose; tasty, velvet textured, dried berry, mineral, cranberry palate; medium-plus finish (good pairing with quail course)
