Community Tasting Notes 7

February 25, 2024 - 90-minute decant. Nearly opaque electric magenta color. Blueberry, black cherry, freeze dried raspberry, cinnamon maple scone, gardenia, and subtle Italian parsley. Dry, silty, full bodied palate, with nice, lingering acidity. Voluptuous tannins on the longish finish.

This is youthful and extremely fruit forward, but so inviting and mesmerizing at the same time. It will gain balance and complexity in the coming few years, but my score reflects how much I enjoyed it today. There’s an ever so slight nod to Bordeaux (In a good way). I’m looking forward to the evolution over the next few years. 96+ points right now (99+ in the future).

February 8, 2024 - Outstanding. Beautiful color. Pleasant fruit to the nose. Bold yet soft to the palate. Very mature tannins for such a young wine. Maybe my favorite wine ever.

February 1, 2024 - PNP. Nearly opaque intense magenta color. Blueberry jelly, toasted nutmeg, and dark mocha. Very dry, plush palate, with nice, lingering, tongue coating acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish.

This is so young, but so good. It kept improving over two hours of drinking. It’s got lots of room to grow in the coming few years. Drank this with Benoit’s beautiful wife Nikita and #1WineLover last week (alongside the ‘16 LPV).

January 12, 2024 - Mistakenly opened this and wrote a note for the F-M MH. Really wish I had not opened so early, much more closed than the MH. Here is the cut and paste of my review, which I guess is ‘semi-blind’

‘Tempted by all these recent rave reviews I decided to try. Drinking beautifully, undoubtedly young but worth the experience. Rich ripe fruit, velvet mouth texture, underlying structure. Nothing not to like. A touch hot at first but I still enjoyed this and it will only get better.’

Knowing what I know now, I would have waited another year to open. Reticent nose. Palate of lovely rich ripe fruits, mocha (not as creamy chocolatey as the MH) and amazing velvet texture. Hope
The alcohol will be hidden with more integration.

August 25, 2023 - Napa 2023 - The Sequel; 8/23/2023-8/28/2023: Just a really well made wine year on year and one I can really appreciate even if I am not a LPV fan. Black fruit on a nice mineral core with a mouthfeel that simply glides across the palate.
