May 29, 2018 - This one was overlooked for over 10 years in my collection - smells like a 2000 Corton that I opened last week - sweet forest floor and herbal tones; salty, tar, black tea, aged black fruits - long finish. Fantastic Vaynerchuk wine; drank after supper, but can't wait to drink with chuck roast and vegetables, tomorrow. Wish I had more

October 28, 2013 - This is a good wine, yet nothing exciting or very noteworthy here. My first word to describe it was "flat". I got some leather, lilac and black tea. It didn't pair well with any of the three nice cheeses we had, but did work with an oily, salty lentils and rice dish. The wife kept noticing dark fruits on the palate. I didn't. Drink up now.

November 12, 2011 - seems a bit unbalanced, not bad but not great.

November 9, 2011 - Garnet with noticeable edge thinning and medium viscosity in the glass. Nose of raspberry compote, camp fire, plum, hide and cocoa powder. Secondary anise and tobacco. Medium body with vibrant red and dark fruit and pepper on the palate. Secondary mushroom, olive and forest floor. Turns green on the back. Sturdy acidity and grippy, chalky tannin. Medium finish.

July 13, 2011 - Popped and poured. Nose of smoked meats, leather, black fruit, dill, sour cherry, seems tamer than last bottle a year ago. On the palate, sour cherry, leather, black fruits, pickle juice, tobacco. A little soft on the finish. I did not expect this to fade so quickly, glad I drank it now instead of later.

(Leocadie Fernand Averoux) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-unbelievablely interesting; Halloweend candy bag filled w/ chocolate dust & strawberries; loose tobacco; heavy on the cherries & black pepper; very intiguing nose; TASTE-huge massive dark blackberries; hints of cherry; massive amount of gorgeous tobacco (the dominant force of this wine; hint of black pepper; beautiful cherries; interesting blackberry/black currant component on the initial attack; great mid-palate transition; nice sour cherry and nice dryness; a lot of flavor & explosive; when it was decanted longer, it showed more floral aspects; great food wine; little bit of licorice; GV-91+
