February 13, 2024 - New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: Clear light ruby core. Powerful, complex scents of citrus rind, spice, and black cherry. Rounder than the 2 preceding wines but still poised with admirable elegance and restraint. Complementing perfectly ripe fruit are light oak, beautifully fine, well incorporated tannin, and a soil-drenched finish of superb length and contour. This is an absolute knockout that will go from strength to strength over the next few decades.
