August 12, 2018 - PnP from magnum. These wines are usually fruit and alcohol bombs when young. This bottle showed me a different side of Martinelli. This 2006 still had plenty of briary fruits, but was the most seamless Zin I've had in a while. The 16% alcohol was completely hidden behind the silky mouthfeel. I would say drink em if you've got em. I can't see this wine getting any better. Fantastic experience.

May 25, 2015 - Way too much alcohol. After 1-2 hours it tones down a little. Just not my preference...unbalanced, over extracted, fruit and alcohol bomb.

November 27, 2014 - Deep, dark garnet almost purple. Nose heavy on Jam and alcohol. This is a big wine with high fruit extraction and high ABV of 16.4%. Needs food to balance it. Not my favorite style of Zin.
