August 9, 2019 - PNP. cork perfect. This was something special. Fully resolved structure and still with fruit to spare. was a little funky at first but that blew right off and what was left was classic aged syrah. this is drinking beautifully but will hold a while longer.

October 25, 2014 - Red-garnet color. Lovely nose of violets, smokey pork, black pepper, camphor. On arrival, low tannin and sharp sweet-sour acidity. Flavors lean but propelled into a long finish. Bottle #5 of six.

April 6, 2012 - Cote Roties with Shane Finley (The Bristol, Chicago IL): nose: wonderfully savory nose filled with tones of bacon fat, black cherries, olives, tapenade, loads of black pepper and some dark floral tones as well. Wonderful depth and alive with classic cote rotie tones

taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and good tannins. Well balanced with real good layering and polished tones of bacon fat, black cherries, olives, black pepper and some bits of incense

overall: This is a much better bottle than the one I had a few years ago. This was drinking wonderfully with a nice medium red color right now. This is exactly the kind of bottle I would've loved a few years ago and thankfully this was great.

August 6, 2010 - Beautiful, vibrant color. Excellent fruit with a hint of underlying blueberry. At peak. Nicely balanced.

March 14, 2009 - nose: took a bit to fully kick into gear. advanced tones of black olives, bits of dark red cherries, pepper hints, dried red fruits, charcol, bacon fat, and hints of chalkish tones emerge with more air

taste: nice medium and elegant feel of dark red fruits, bacon fat, dark florals, bits of perfumes and nice tones of cracked pepper. Tannins fully resolved that is very mature

overall: Came across a lot older then a 96. Wasn't that exciting at first, but with some air it gained color and depth with more complexity and some of the dried fruit aspects dissapeared. Even with the air, it still came across as a more advanced cote rotie then a 96. Give it about an hour in the decanter, but drink up and be sure to drink it with a sweeter dessert as it went great with some creme carmel
