September 22, 2019 - Excellent stuff - basically a pop and pour so I won't score this but I was impressed with its vigor and richness balanced by good cut and freshness. Currant, cedar, smoke, mineral; dense and tangy. I find a lot of the 2000s a little oaky and that might be the case here, but the more successful ones may eat it in time. 94+

August 19, 2019 - The Leoville Las Cases 2000 was my wine of the night, it stood out amongst a few other Burgundies and Champagne. Decanted for 4 hours - Fragrant and complex with the depth of a first growth left bank Bordeaux. Opulent fresh blackberries, cassis, sweet graphite, cigar box and oak smoke. Needs more cellaring but clearly a league on its own. One of the best Las Cases I have tasted. (93+/100)

June 16, 2019 - Outstanding. Opened at 11, decanted at 2, drunk from 3pm onwards with a roast sirloin of beef.

June 16, 2019 - Bought from Benchmark two months ago and had it shipped Fedex Ground. Opened after two months in my cellar and gave it 2.5 hours of slow ox. The nose is spectacularly opulent with cuban cigar, mahagony paneling and piles of cash like a high stakes poker game, plus vanilla, cassis and blackberry, 99+ pts. In the mouth the wood is strong but the fruit is shy. Cassis, blackberry and unripe blackberry. Good structure and lift, but the mid palate is a touch thin. I just wish the fruit were riper and plusher, 94 pts. 96.5+ pts overall.

May 26, 2019 - Wow. We had it to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Aromas and taste that are unforgettable. This just got better as we drank it over a couple of hours. It needs decanting to get the most out of it, but very enjoyable fron the moment you open the bottle

(Leoville-Las Cases) Dark almost mauve-like color. Dark, somber nose. I don't know , desert night came to mind. Dark fruits. Little game. Minerality. You could tell there was amazing material here. Just a behemoth on the palate and an endless red fruit cascade on the finish. Perfect delineation. Perfect balance. Endless fruit
