November 24, 2021 - Not the best showing from this Vineyard. This bottle was tired and on the back end of life. Without a doubt one of my favorite vineyard in California

November 18, 2021 - Looked youthful, but plenty of secondary and tertiary notes. Most of the fruit had transitioned to earth and cedar, tobacco and toasted wood. This had a delicacy that was absent in a number of the other older vintages of Araujo Eisele. Stored well, this was a nice bottle and showed well with the 15 or so wines in the vertical.

November 16, 2021 - The 1991 Phelps Eisele built and built over the course of the evening, slowly (reluctantly) unfurling black fruit, mint, milk chocolate, and oak. Stern but majestic style, almost Montrosian.

November 11, 2021 - Wow. Red cherries, blackberry, grilled rosemary and mint. There is a lot going on here and a core of svelte red and black fruit. The stage of maturity here is perfect revealing layers of complexity but retaining just the right amount of youth and glycerin

September 28, 2021 - from double magnum. decanted 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to serving. Also showing slightly savory black olive and tapenade notes, but definitely fresher, more meaty and concentrated compared to the 91 Araujo Eisele in magnum.
