Community Tasting Notes 10

February 24, 2012 - - Crimsom color and aromas of cherry. It's balanced and has flavours of oak and cherry with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - Red to violet color. Cherry nose and throughout the tasting. Oak finish. Let breath for 30, otherwise too acidic. Drink soon. Very enjoyable, strong bodied red.

January 19, 2012 - Tart, cherry flavor with slightly shrill acidity. There are some tannins that appear on the finish. Overall, this is past its prime and seems acidified. Drink now or beware of the results.

April 7, 2011 - Similar to my previous notes. This wine has a plummy nose, but on the palate, there is a candied sweet tart flavor with plums and some bitter, woody tannins. Structurally, the acidity is good, but the American oak is obtrusive. The finish has good length but is marred by the bitterness from the oak tannins.

September 22, 2010 - Purple color. The nose displays dark cherry and raw wood. In the mouth, the fruit is tart, underripe raspberry with cherry and some raw American oak. There is good acidity and an adequate finish. Overall, this seems underripe but does go well with high acid foods such as lasagne.

February 28, 2010 - Dark garnet color. Notes of blackberry, peppery dark currant, with meat and foral nuances. Balanced, with sweet tannins, acidity and fruit all in check. Flavors of red and dark fruits play nicely off one another.
