  April 21, 2019 - Easter Dinner with Great Wine (New York, NY): Tasted double blind in "Piedmont?" flight. This seemed so much younger than 50+ yo. Good weight and depth. Red and black cherry with subtle spice and a rustic character that didn't quite seem so "Piedmont" to me, but made sense when the wine was revealed.

  January 22, 2008 - 1967-1985 Nebbiolo and Spanna (Los Altos, CA): Seductive nose of chocolate-dipped dried cherries, coca bean husks, tar. Just a touch of VA of the ethyl acetate variety. Nice sweet, tart red fruits, very juicy. Tasty stuff that probably is not 100% nebbiolo. Finishes with dried strawberry and an interesting, savory note. Less concentrated than the previous wine (1985 Vallana Spanna). Finish is a little funky/oaky, and the acid feels clunky. Good. My 4/9, group's 5/9. (1/2/3/1)
