Community Tasting Notes 5

May 1, 2013 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. the wine continues to show well. i enjoyed this bottle even more than the last. dark color but fruit is turning more cherry like. magnificent, generous nose. silky mouth feel but with a dose of tannin to provide backbone and hold things together. Zoftig legs coat the side of the glass. Small amount of granular sediment on last sip and more adhering to the bottle neck. 5 second finish. this wine continues to develop with increasing complexity. i am extending longevity despite the short estimates of the pros. this was their first commercial vintage. excellent product for a first effort. need to see what they have been up to lately.

November 4, 2011 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. found this bottle in a local shop. it was being closed out, most likely, based on the fact that pro reviews would suggest it is past its prime. we had the honor of meeting mr. hall at a recent stage left tasting so i thought that it was worth taking a chance. the wine came through with flying colors. deep color. rich mouth feel. bright fruit. lengthy finish. i went back and cleaned out the rest which i will cellar for at least another year.

September 9, 2011 - Pacific Pointe Wine Tasting Club - Syrah Night (Tony and Helen's Home): Garnet color with black fruit, herbs, and cigar box aromas. On the palate, fruity, but balanced with black currant, vanilla, and spice flavors. Medium-long finish

February 5, 2005 - Inky black color, with a rich nose of blackberry, currants and peppery spices. Very mooth going down, with cassis and blackberry, and a spicy finish.
