June 21, 2019 - Third bottle and this is finally in its drinking window for my palate. It has the sweet fruit of the 2005 vintage and the tannins are resolving.

November 11, 2014 - 2005 Burgundy (La Trompette, London): Slightly darker. Expressive nose. Dark red fruit, spice, maybe a hint of warm saddle. Very rounded, sweet fruit at the core with almost a cassis element. Warm spice on the nose. Round and harmonious. Generous even. ****

March 29, 2013 - This is just coming into its drinking window, and there's already a fair amount going on. Fairly fruity -- very slightly sweet frambois with a major kirsch thing going. Mineral and forest floor. Good acid and a fairly long finish. Already very enjoyable.

April 12, 2010 - I admit it; I committed infanticide on this bottle. Fantastic nose, with classic Cote du Beaune elements of barnyard, fruit, etc. A little dumb on the palate, though. Opened up over an hour of drinking, but it was way too early. 3 years before I try it again, I promise.

February 2, 2008 - 2005 Chandon de Briailles Burgundies (Vineyardgate, Millbrae, CA): Big, concentrated ripe red berry nose, with a touch of oak. This comes across a little chunky and almost jammy coming after the elegant purity of the Chandon de Briailles wines; i suspect it would show better on its own terms. Sweet and ripe on the palate, with juicy red fruit, licorice and understated sweet oak. Structure is buried in baby fat. At this point it's a bit much, but will probably settle down with time.
