  December 19, 2010 - Combined bday dinner; 12/19/2010-12/20/2010 (Tornado): Some sweet florals and light with date tea. V light. Touch and go. Nicely elegant n a nice wine. Not controversial and never gonna be attention grabbing.

  December 18, 2010 - 30-40-50 Dinner (Music and Wines of the 1960s, 70s and 80s) (Bounce, Iluma): Started out a little musty and grumpy, but this really opened up very nicely with time to show as one of the better red wines on the night. Nose still had flecks of oak, with vanilla and milk chocolate scents mingling with slightly dried cherries, bramble and fruit tea scents. Clearly a Burg this time. The palate was rather stronger than the nose would suggest. It was completely resolved and very mature, but still nicely balanced, with nice sappy falvours of sweet dried cherries, red date tea, haw flakes,and some dried flowers lent a clean feel by well-integrated acidity. Nice depth, with a juicy and succulent mid-palate leading into an open, flowery finish where some spice and dried cherries closed the wine off quite yummily. I really liked this - finally a wine that was neither too young nor too old, this was drinking just nicely.
