February 3, 2018 - Drinking fine with pleasant fruits. Mature but not much sign of age. This is not a big bold petite sirah. Served with a pork loin rubbed with cumin and lime, a very good match.
Color translucent ruby slight brown edges.

February 19, 2010 - Dusty black fruits on the nose with a bit of bramble around the edges. Seems kind of closed yet.
Pretty tight on the palate. Structure is still holding very strong and is a bit closed down. After several hours, the dusty black cherry and blackberry opened up, although the tannins still held very firm.
This is still a few years from really coming into its own. I have to agree with Nick that this will probably go longer than the ‘97.

February 19, 2010 - Arthritis Foundation Connoiseurs' Room (Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee): earthy and closed nose. palate shows violet on the finish. color suggests 10-12 year old wine, not 18yrs. light and thin browning at the rim. very youthful. easily another 10 years to go.
