October 21, 2017 - Upon opening, there was already a rich nose to it. It's quite lovely, with hints of warm cocoa and dark fruit, including some prune. Some cherry notes when paired with a semi-firm sheeps cheese. Racy acidity.

October 26, 2012 - Cabin Wines: Not complex but fun. Cherry, blueberries, smoke and floral notes. A bit sweet on the palate but still enough structure for the more serious wine drinker. A real crowd pleaser.

August 28, 2011 - The last time I had this wine was two years ago. Quite nice right now. It's a much softer wine. There is nothing subtle about this wine, it's big and in your face with gobs of black and blue fruits. Not a lot of acid or structure but quite tasty.

May 17, 2010 - Always love these "R" Cooper Barbs. They offer flavor combos I don't normally find in other wines: caramel, vanilla, cherry, ginger & berries. Smooth tannins and light to medium body makes it very easy drinking and very food friendly. Last of our 06 bottles.

September 23, 2009 - aromas of Baked cherry, Cedar, Gingerbread, Spicy prune that ultimately loses out to the overwhelming paint thinner(my wife said "sharpie" marker) aromas that surely come from the high alcohol, bottle says 14.9...Mouth has a brief sweetness, which is quickly overcome with heat, some spiciness shines through, but not enough to make me think that is is a very good wine. I would NEVER have guessed this as a barbera.

9/24 - Re-tasted the wine that I had leftover, and found the alcohol to be toned down quite a bit. may have to re-taste after a decanting...still not a great wine but lots better on day 2. 74 points jumps to 82.
