August 9, 2017 - really great...and has a lot more life it. still mostly purple, young fruit nose...needs an hour to open. electric cranberries with dust...currants, rhubarb, spice, seawater...integrated and swirling. Love it.

August 10, 2013 - Nice bottle, but not a wow wine by any means. After a lovely perfumed Clos Vougeot this seemed too dark and one-dimensional. Ready to drink now, it was showing a bit of age around the edges.

February 6, 2012 - Popped and poured straight from the bottle. Dark ruby in colour; lovely nose of dark fruit and plums; medium weight on the palate with good earthy flavours combined more rich dark fruits. This has plenty of substance (muscle even) and complexity for a 2000 and is beautifully balanced, but for me it's more International in style rather than a classic expression of terroir. Excellent, but not to my style. Estimated maturity: 2010-2015

August 27, 2011 - Turning brown. Tasted in small pours and did not decant. It lost a lot in the glass. Definitely at end of its life. Dried cherries, woodsy forest floor with a little cedar and smoke on the finish.

July 16, 2011 - Dark for an 11 year old wine. Deep purple. Takes at least an hour to begin to open. Which I failed to do properly...popped and poured out at dinner. Deep cherry and bosenberry core. Slight spice and dust. A crime that I did let this open properly as this had a lot left that I didn't allow to show.
