April 3, 2024 - After trying the Bordeaux blend and being pleasantly surprised, I decided to grab a bottle of the cab. Wow, what a wine.

Decanted it for a couple hours, which ended up being a good decision. Mainly blue fruit on the nose.

The pallet is what took me by surprise. Strength and intensity, right off the bat, with a really nice transition into a freshness with great acidity. Medium strong tannins on the finish, which tell me that this guy is going to be amazing in a few years.

Great QPR, and I’m definitely snagging a bunch more of these to lay down.

April 2, 2024 - Very nice now, and youthful—definitely needs at least three years more. Pronounced intensity and concentration, with deep inky purple color that paints the sides of the glass. Ripe juicy (not jammy) blueberry, boysenberry, vanilla, baking spice, black olive tapenade, and dark chocolate. High velvety soft tannins are well-integrated. High acid is lively and in balance.

March 24, 2024 - Beautiful intense violet color. Youthful and vibrant blue fruit, good purity. Acid and tannin are front and center. Fresh and savory. Practically pop and pour ready.

March 17, 2024 - Blind tasting (5 bottles in $10 - $500 range) (The Sumoba compound): Nose: Dried tree bark, black fruits, damp moss and almost slightly musty undergrowth. Fruits seem more lifted like fresher plums with a right amount of ripeness.

Palate: Lifted dark fruits with a nice freshness on the mid palate, just like the fruits on the nose. Gentle spice develops on the palate. Cranberries and minerals on the finish. Juicy on the finish.

March 17, 2024 - But, you can buy 5 for the price of 1...: A bit muted on the nose, but with swirling, came to life. Glides on the palate with ease. There is a lightness but also a density that carries itself through on the palate. Amazing value and hold its own amongst big boy Napa names. Even after 4 hours, this stayed very consistent. The complexity for me lacks a bit and makes me wonder if this wine is meant to be drunk early. If you are looking for a great wine for a gift or have a special occasion but are not willing to break the bank for it, then this is your jam!
