June 12, 2017 - 14% alcohol (I am guessing a bit here because of the mouldy label). Super cork. Dark colour showing no sign of evolution. The nose is dominated by "élevage" notes in the form of vanilla essence, and so is the mouth, which has however plenty of zip and a refreshing finish.
Probably not one of Michel Tardieu's best efforts, given that the oak overpowers the wine to a large extent (he can normally be relied upon to judge the oak exposure well, if slightly generously). Still very pleasant, but in a somewhat international style.
Probably not for me at this stage, however reluctant I am to admit it.
