Community Tasting Notes 10

November 2, 2018 - nothing special. Menthol, plummy.

June 28, 2016 - Similar to other notes, plenty of Brett on the nose -- but in a good, meaty gamey raw steak bloody animal sort of way. It's a matter of taste -- I love that in wine. Gives sense of place immediately to me. At first the palate had a very odd finish -- an astingent quality. I Vinturied every pour after that note and the wine began to sing.

May 16, 2015 - Creamy nose with something like tamarind. Dark ruby color nearly opaque. Full flavored red with a touch of sweetness. Juniper berry nuance. Good overall balance and length. Some heat noticed on the finish. Tannins are light.

August 30, 2013 - Sludge in a bottle. Shame on Cafe Boulud for selling this.

March 15, 2011 - 2006 Chateauneuf du Papes (and a white CdP starter) (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): Bretty on the nose. Juicy, fresh dark red fruit on the palate giving way to oak and tannin. No evidence of brett on the palate.

(Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange Châteauneuf-du-Pape) Dark red violet color; more restrained ripe cherry and plum nose, that opens, after 90 minutes, to ripe plum and cherry; spicy plum and a little graphite on palate with lower acidity; medium finish 89+ pts.
