May 21, 2016 - Q2 - 2016 Tasting - The Rhone! - Another taster's perspective ((The Apt)): #9 of 16 wines tasted (double-blind) at Rhone tasting. I liked this wine as did the group overall it was tied for 4th place. To me this shared some similarities with wine #2 the favorite. This one appeared to be more aged with color starting to brown around the edges. Nice long finish.

May 21, 2016 - Q2 Tasting - The Rhone! (The Apt): Wine #9: Part of a double blind tasting of Rhone wines. This was much more fruit forward than some of the others. Almost a candied flavor to it. Very clean. Well liked by the group - tied for 4th highest rating of the wines. (6 pennies)

March 2, 2012 - Had at Amical in Traverse City, MI (very reasonably priced for wine at a restaurant). Nice CdP, cherry-vanilla, cigar box/tobacco, medium finish, soft, great for every day drinker/dinner.

December 31, 2009 - A gift to visiting friend for her 40th Bday, we enjoyed this between champagnes. Aerate to decanter, serve. Dark garnet with magenta hues, cloudy, medium full body. Wide open for business, a generous CDP nose of kirsch, plum, some bacon fat, garrigue, lavender, and pepper. Excellent depth of fruit on the palate, with dark plum, some tart cherries, herbs, licorice, smoke, and leather. Excellent extended finish of tart berries, chocolate, herbs, and a bit of mineral. Medium acid, and a bit surprising was that there are significant tannins but they are already well on their way to becoming integrated so this was quite approachable. This showed extremely well and was interesting to drink just by itself.
