December 26, 2023 - From magnum. Pulled the cork at about 1030am and begun drinking at about 2pm. This is exactly what I’d hoped it would be. Lots of savoury notes on the nose, splashes of dark red fruit. In the mouth you get the dark fruit, tar, tobacco, smoke - it’s long, great length. A well regarded bottle over Xmas lunch alongside a Penney Estate Reserve Cabernet (2009, also from magnum), a 2009 Wendouree Shiraz, and a Kay Brothers Basket Press.

July 21, 2023 - What a pleasant surprise! This Aussie cab had aged gracefully. Bottle cellared since release. Lots of dark fruit. Tannins had resolved. Drink up now.

June 27, 2023 - Great cab sav that has aged brilliantly. Smooth tannins great mouthfeel luscious even, colour is still deep and intense for a 20 year old wine. Black currants, cassis, eucalyptus. At peak drink now or in the next couple of years. Can't wait to sample the few bottles remaining.

May 7, 2023 - Great nose, cassis, blackcurrents, mint, vanilla, cigar box. Colour intense and dark even at 20 years of age. Beautifully smooth and silky long lasting finish. Really enjoyed this one. At peak drink sooner rather than later.

March 20, 2023 - Dark inky red with very long legs. Musty, forest floor aromas. Flavours of dark fruits like plum, black cherry, and blackberry along with warm spice, vanilla, licorice, and black pepper. Tannins very subtle and beautifully balanced.

Drank the remainder of the bottle the following night and was wowed by the way the wine had opened up. It has become extremely smooth, lost the musty taste, beautifully balanced.
