November 5, 2019 - Another great bottle, contained, cool and upright with notes of garrigue in spades. Good balance, perfectly mature now.
November 5, 2019 - It's Friday, I'm in love - and need to go to Rhône very soon. Meanwhile, this will keep me longing. Perfectly mature, singing with sweet Grenache, pleanty of garrrigue and a perfect balance; there is richness here, but it never overwhelms - my hos should count himself lucky, that I was driving today, or it would have gone in an instant.

March 28, 2018 - Want to know what traditional mature CdP tastes like? Taste this. Pours a light transparent garnet, medium bricking. The nose wafts white pepper, black pepper, grilled meat, dried herbs, charcoal, dried orange peel, and mixed red berries. The palate is just a touch astringent with excellent acidity and a medium finish replaying the white pepper of the nose. Totally love this style.
August 27, 2017 - Fantastic, ultra-traditional Chateauneuf du Pape. There is absolutely no 98-heat here, none, this is cool-fruited with a wonderful, bright acidity, tobacco and garrigue notes in an upright, structured style. Opens up beautifully with air to show tertiary notes, this is mature but by no means past peak. Restrained and lighter in style, this is the way I like Chateauneuf du Pape.
March 28, 2016 - Kirsch, earth, leather, a little garrigue if you look for it. Fully mature, drink up. B
March 8, 2016 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1998 (Chez moi): Elegant, nice - straight forward - balanced, clean, fruity.
November 14, 2015 - Just a little too high in acidity, especially on the finish. Nose and palate are showing ok - hints of what I like about old CdP - but overall a poor showing. Another losing spin on the secondary market wheel of fortune.
February 22, 2013 - Excellent nose of cedar, pipe tobacco and some subdued fruit. Decent acidity and tannins, however lacking on the mid palate and has a slightly bitter and hot finish. The taste and mouthfeel do not live up to the bouquet.
January 9, 2013 - long, equilibré. ouvert 45 min. avant de le boire, a mon sens a son apogée.
July 26, 2012 - Last but not least. Xclnt fill and cork. sweet spicy and smooth.
