September 5, 2019 - Acker 2019/09; 9/5/2019-9/7/2019 (Le Bernardin Prive, Marea): 01808/2996. Full and round with lots of acid. Mellow texture. 92

April 28, 2018 - Somewhat unforgiving and without the freshness that one today expects from Colombiere. 89-

March 27, 2017 - From magnum at Ma Cuisine in Beaune: dark fruit, flinty, asain spices, meduim body, fresh acidity. Finishes a tad short but keeps evolving and only half way through.

April 16, 2016 - Serialized as bottle no. 372, the wine is my very first Vosne Romanee and my first Comte Liger-Belair. This is such a treat. The wine pours a dark maroon color with a purple rim and very thick, viscous legs. Just like the appearance, the nose is powerful and so concentrated as is expected from this blockbuster vintage. This is a very feminine wine as the nose shows more guile, finesse and effortlessness. There are plenty of red fruits (cherries in particular), black fruits, graphite oak and smoked meats in the nose. Although somewhat astringent, this wine is textured, viscous and velvety with very well-integrated tannins on the palate. There are notes of cherries, mint, eucalyptus, jammed fruits, graphite, pepper and in particular, sour plum soup (酸梅湯). I also get a streak of greenness along with the faintest touch of oak. The finish of this wine is surprisingly complex and smoky and the end fluctuates between the two. This is such an impressive wine. in fact, it is the surprising length that serves as a testament to the extraction levels and superb viniculture despite it being made with village-level fruit. This is a true testament to the pedigree and finesse of the wine maker himself. What a privilege it is to drink this as my first Vosne Romanee.
