May 18, 2013 - Bright red. Hints of purple. Ready to drink now at 7 years. Almost opaque, very dark for a pinot, typical of Carneros. Complex briary nose of dark fruit, cola, vanilla oak and a hint of spice/cinnamon. Green tea. Delicious Blackberry, tart cherry, soft to no tannins, strong oak (might be tamed by an another year in the bottle), with a full bodied and silky texture and an extended sweet fruit finish. Well made and beautifully balanced. Stanley Ranch is huge and Saintsbury is a pinot specialist so they know how to get a full expression from this site.
