Community Tasting Notes 4

May 20, 2024 - Light yellow- ripe orchard fruits and their bitter skins and sweet flowers and faint almond oil along with a bit of herbal pine resin - a bit lighter and less zippy - acknowledging of course zippy acids is not a marsanne/rousanne trademark- than priors I have enjoyed - off list at resto but if I were a case long on this I’d probably put them on the front burner.

May 16, 2024 - Fresh from release at the Retail Monopoly, Pierre Clape’s spellbinding Saint-Péray (v22, 14% ABV, 90/10 Marsanne/Roussanne) f pre-dominantly old vines never stops to amaze me - billowing w deep-trenched scents & flavours, banging complexity, the epitome of NR whites! Rich, round nose, alluring fresh apricots, peach, pears, all yellow & brooding, supremely spiced & tangy. Full-bodied palate shaped by mouthcoating minerality, salty acidity, viscious intensity, impeccably vinous, citrus-bitter, opulent, moreish close!

April 20, 2024 - Drink or hold. Very unique. Complexity and depth. 14 percent alcohol.

March 10, 2024 - During a merchant tasting, no detailed notes. Attractive aromas and carrying its 14% well. If you like richer whites this is quite decent.
