June 30, 2008 - This is a tight wine with high tannins. Minty nose with high acid. Fruit flavors compete with the high tannins in the mouth. I drank 1/2 a bottle and saved the other until next day. The following day the wine opened up and the fruit was more lively. The mint was still present on the nose with darker fruit and pencil shavings. Mouth is lively with acid and tannins jumping about. Fruit is holding up to the tannins. Nice and chewy. Decant a few hours or decant and put back in bottle overnight in fridge.
