January 24, 2021 - Deep gold appearance. Nose is pure Tondonia Blanco at this point.

Palette is baked apples and nuts. Waxy texture. Medium length finish that tails off slowly leaving you remembering more the texture than the flavour.
Modern Guigal Hermitage is a Marsanne/Rousanne blend, I can't find any specifics on this but later wines are 90-95% Marsanne.

Not an unpleasant experience at all, would've been nice to have a younger one to taste back to back.

March 3, 2012 - Golden yellow. Rich, round but balanced. Flavors of elderflower, peach and lychee. The Viognier is very evident, slight sweetness but not cloying. Lovely wine with veal chops with butter and sage. Nice wine, not showing its age. Would have given this a higher score if it had a touch more acidity.

January 3, 2010 - Towards the end of it's string. Still deep gold color, making it easier to see a slightly watery edge. Empty nose, with a little lemon, honey, maybe oxidation? Good pairing with some sliced iberico ham, manchego cheese, toasted baguette slices.

July 22, 2009 - Deep gold color, clear. Interesting nose with hints of old lemon/verbena, sweet fruit. Slightly old flavors, but pretty nice for a 19 year old wine. I wish I had this in a 750. 2 bottles to go.

Drank this with milk poached asparagus, topped with a fried egg, some grated pecorino, and a couple of grates of summer black truffle. Quandary of a pairing, but worked pretty well.

February 2, 2009 - Medium gold... beguiling nose is a ringer for a creme brulee with perhaps a hint of lemon. Rich, palate-coating with yummy fruit and good acidity. No wonder Thomas Jefferson called this the world's best white wine!
