  April 19, 2013 - Initially, PnP'd and this was completely out of balance with almost overwhelming black pepper on the attack and unpleasant astringency on the midpalate, before ending with a somewhat pleasant medium-to-long finish. After about two hours of air, components were much better integrated, and this showed decent layering and complexity though still peppery (more of a cinnamon candy note) and earthy, with no primary flavors that I would describe as fruit. This wine then started to fall apart over the next two hours, with heat again emerging as a dominant component. Overall, I liked this well enough, but wouldn't necessarily seek it out again.

  August 22, 2011 - Deep ruby-red color, nose of black currant and black berries. Prevalent oak. The mouth is well-balanced. Spicy, smokey, black fruit and med-firm tannins. Quite a nice 100% Cab from Lake Co.
