February 24, 2011 - This was very good. Blueberries and blackberries, creosote, wet limestone, great minerality. Good acid, somewhat astringent but not offensive. Shows cool climate characteristics. Great to see a producer focused on Pinots make a true to form Syrah.

Really nice, and exactly what I would ask for in a Califronia syrah. Mostly fruit right now, with some of the meaty syrah flavors lurking around in the background. It's not a hugely structured wine, the tannins aren't obtrusive, but the balance is such that you could leave some of this in the cellar to see if the secondary characteristics will start to come out a bit more. For $25... yes indeed.
