October 21, 2017 - Smooth round and silky with gripping tannin on the finish. Starting to dry out but really holing on to life with acidity and sweet tobacco cigar box flavors in spades. Ink, earth, floral and root notes also present a fabulous bouquet that sucks you in to every sip of this wine. Very impressive for a wine of this status and age. Drink now.

January 14, 2017 - Leaves earth and mushrooms with a distinct sweet cassis note. What a nose. Smooth and elegant with excellent balance. Medium finish, not a lot of concentration, but this is very good. Holding up well to say the least. Drink now-2020.

February 4, 2011 - Really delicious with fine color. The tannin has softened and the wine is at its peak. There still is some black fruit. The wine is showing some finesse as well now.

December 6, 2008 - Nice rough country claret. Drinking well now, good, not great, what it is.

June 30, 2007 - Straight from the bottle it was very nice. Ripe, but definitely a wine from a good vintage. At first I thought it was 1989, but the wine faded after an hour or so. But nevertheless still very nice drinking.
