December 23, 2023 - Durand could not extract cork. Cork was very solid, with no give for the ah so to get in. For a 25 year old wine, I may have to take fault as perhaps humidity conditions were not optimal for storage this long. Although, I had a 1997 Brunello Riserva from a different producer last year and that was humming.

Brandied and full of sediment. Down the drain it went

September 20, 2023 - Really drinking well. Best after 3 hours in the decanter. Great mature fruit, some sweet light red fruits, mostly resolved tannins, mushroom, earth, leather good acidity. A really complete wine, maybe just a hint of VA when opened and a touch of heat that never goes away are the only negatives.

September 7, 2019 - One can tell this wine is old, musty nose, murky appearance, cloudy brown color. On the palate it feels old but yet it has that signature brunello taste - dry herbs, tobacco, dry cherries. Second taste, the nose gives notes of damp forest, hints of pine, some of these notes coming through on the palate with dissolving tannins.

May 31, 2019 - Showing its age with murky, nearly brown appearance

Muted nose, tannins well integrated, some remnants of cherry fruit.

Nice enough, but (I hope) on the downswing. Not much time for enjoyment left in it on this showing
