May 9, 2016 - Drank with some store bought, pre cooked ribs. Rich, full bodied fruit bomb - despite the broken cork this wine is bold and beautiful. Great value and still good 10 years in!

March 29, 2016 - I was a little nervous when the cork broke but the bottom half held a tight seal. Opened up very well, good fruit and spice, a little heat from the alcohol, but went very well with marinated pork loin and home made applesauce. This wine punches above is weight class.

A California Zinfandel Wine Tasting, Episode #706, 7/20/2009 (link) 90+ points(Neyers Zinfandel High Valley) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-crushed up coffee bean; hint of rosemary on the tail-end; dark fruit (dark sour cherries & blueberries); chocolate sneaking through; very pretty and focused; PALATE-very creamy; vanilla and coffee bean action; very easy drinking which is impressive for a 15.3% alcohol content; this is a big boy; this wine has a lot going on, but it's containing it with it's tannin, fruit and subtle oak; this is a very balanced wine; I'm impressed, but disappointed that it doesn't have enough charisma to put it over the top; very well made and many will like more than I do; some nice raspberry coming through; RP-91; GV-90+
