January 5, 2022 - The last Diana Madeline I've had was the 2014 vintage, and in comparison I liked the 2014 alot more - it was far more fruit forward while still having the typical margaux-like quality MR cab has. This 2005 tastes very austere, while tannins are smooth and acidity is great, but it's less rounded than I'd expect, it comes across to me as too much of a cold-year Margaux than an Australian cab, even though it's MR.

December 28, 2021 - Nice example of MR cabernet blend.
Dark fruit, moderate acidity. Tannins well integrated and any greenness completely gone with just a little dryness on the finish.

November 21, 2021 - Black and red currants, tobacco, bay leaf, pencil shavings, cigar box. Svelte, balanced and structured. Decanted for an hour and drank over 3 more, evolving and opening up beautifully. Will live forever under screwcap, or can be drunk now, slowly after a good decant. (95 Superb wine)

February 17, 2021 - Margaret River Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Alcohol heat hides polished oak, ripe blackcurrant, cassis, sweet spcie. The fruit is almost dried out in the mouth with grippy, drying tannins that close down the palate, liquorice and baked black fruits. Meh.

December 31, 2020 - This followed the Woodlands ‘05 and was noticeable tighter and still holding back its secrets. From memory hints of leather and pencil with tight dark fruit. Plenty of time to go with this.
