February 9, 2011 - Actually a pretty nice wine, cola, raspberry and smoke mix with green leaf to create a surprisingly complex and refreshing wine given its age. Lightish in body without and prune or overripe notes. Nice, fine-grained tannins, well integrated acidity and a little tingle on the tongue. I am just moving into Cali zins from '06 after a number of overripe monsters in the early to mid 00's, so this was quite refreshing and I hope '06 yielded less overripe character in Cali zins.
