May 5, 2024 - I can never say enough about how gracefully this wine ages

October 29, 2023 - Blind tasting with friends and this was the #1 / WOTN. Criteria for wines was 2010 or older, at least 90% Cabernet and $75-200.

Competition included: 2006 Cain Five (didn’t qualify as a <90% blend, but we let it slide), 1999 Dunn (from Mag), 2008 Huneycutt 935, 2002 Seavey, 2003 Jarvis and 2009 Llamas Stagecoach. We had a $16 “ringer” in the lineup also (2018 Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Aged Cab).

Drinking beautifully, so would not wait if you have this in the cellar. Only knock on the wine was a bit of a fading finish. Beautiful, balanced wine. Medium bodied, great acid and red fruit with hints of plum, dark cherry and red currant. Some cigar box / tobacco on the back palate. Great wine!

October 7, 2023 - Picked up three bottles from BMG which arrived in stellar condition. Perfect cork on the first bottle.

As for the wine, damn this is my jam. Mature with full on secondary and tertiary flavors. Sweet fruit tannins balance out what would otherwise be petrol, tobacco, tar and earth. Hard to mistake this for anything other than Napa on what has proven to be one of my favorite vintages to purchase.

Plenty of life left so no rush pull but the temptation is real knowing what’s in the bottle today.

September 23, 2023 - Mature, but still very full and rich fruits; very mellowed, but has 5 to 10 more years left.

(Araujo Estate Altagracia) Deep garnet, with a magenta rim. An initial spicy-mineral quality on the nose yields to notes of plum, blackberry, cassis, chocolate, bacon, and a bit of bell pepper. The warm palate adds graphite and French oak, moderate acidity, and firm, structured tannins. Terroir: Eisele Vineyard
