July 12, 2014 - Enjoyed at Del Frisco's Fort Worth. A good amarone, but starting to show some slight signs of decline I believe. I expected this one to still be rather vibrant and smooth, but what I got was something quite different. First things' first - - this cork was extremely hard to get out of the bottle. There was no sign of cork compromise -- just a terribly tight cork. Wine was served while we were drinking some white and was given about 30-40 minutes to open. Initially there was a significant cigar box front, that was a little intense and off-putting. Poured a very dark crimson into the glass. Slightly dirty. Cigar box loosened up after 30 minutes and allowed the front to come through. All in all there were very dark fruits on the front, still with a noticeable earthy character. Even though the wine was rather soft and velvety throughout, there was a backbone of earthy grit, forest floor, throughout. Plum, fig, all on the front and went well with the steak. The wine itself was probably closer to a 92 at its height. Given that this was tasted from a 375ml bottle, my perspective could be different from yours and a regular bottle might have more vibrance (that I expected), slightly less earth (which I expected) and more time left in the hourglass (which I expected). Mixed feelings about this one, but all in all was a good complement to the meal on a nice night out. Drink now.....if you have 375's. If you have anything bigger, you probably have 4-5 years.

October 28, 2011 - Rich dark nose, evoking molasses soaked plum. Balanced on the tongue, belying it's high alcohol content. Its full flavor is both subtle and complex. An absolutely beautiful wine.

May 13, 2011 - Pop and pour but first put in a brown paper bag marked "Apocalypse Now" along with a 2009 Carlisle Montafi Zin (marked "On the Waterfront") and a 2008 Saxum JBV (paper bag marked "The Godfather").
Good deep color and not showing much bricking. Lots of sweet chocolate cherry flavors.
Velvety mouth feel; surpirised that this was marked at 16% as it shows no heat and no prune/over ripe flavors.

January 26, 2011 - Luscious cherry and chocolate in a tannic background of tobacco. A bit thin but satisfying.

(Brigaldara Amarone) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-quite green; PALATE-kind of thin and a little green; the tannins are very bitter; a little tobacco leaf on the back-end; not very well structured; AG-90; GV-85
