November 16, 2022 - Nine red 2006 Burgs (Noize): Slightly subdued on the nose, and slightly austere overall, though the sense of balance and completeness was unmissable. Ample delightful red fruit, a bit grippy, plenty there but another few years required before it fully reveals itself.

November 16, 2022 - 2006 Burgundy with a few additions (Noizé, London): Even darker fruit than the Gouges here. Almost Nebbiolo like liquorice character; Faiveleys of this era are famously backward. Lots of swirling coaxes a bit more from the glass, definitely a very serious wine here. Will be better in 10(20?) years but still enjoyable tonight notwithstanding its "youth".

July 27, 2022 - @ Manhatta NYC. Big whiffs of barnyard took a few minutes to blow off. Lots of bright fruits initially but faded fairly quickly. Dusty, fine and integrated tannins. Dry finish. This is on the decline or never got to a sweet spot in the first place.

March 6, 2020 - Fragrant nose of cherries, medium to lighter body with strong tannins, and a lengthy finish. Very tasty but as said previously, the fruit fails to match the tannin.

November 16, 2019 - Out of the bottle closed and tannic. After an hour of decanting started to open up a bit. Good tannic and acid balance though fruit and nose are somewhat absent... eventually a hint of blueberry appears, with a bit of vanilla, while enjoying the last of this somewhat retiring bottle.

June 6, 2019 - Very quick note; the tannin is still very present yet the fruits are going well into its secondary phase. On the nose gorgeous, even glamorous and yet the bone dryness surprise you once on the palate. I better watch out that it doesn't end up being a lifeless skeleton in a few years time... a nice fatty steak may go well. Cheers,

January 29, 2017 - Mediocre. Fruit muted, little acidity or complexity. Perhaps might get better in a year or two, but it's doubtful.

April 10, 2016 - Flavors were not enjoyable. How is that possible for a 10 year old NSG.

November 15, 2014 - Perfectly good and well balanced but not an "a ha!" Wine. Fairly simple nose of raspberries, minimal complexity. Nice taughtness and lovely tannins on the long finish give it heft and presence. Perhaps this is just shut down a bit. Didn't go anywhere when decanted for hours though..

April 14, 2012 - Houston Berserkers Offline (Sophia): Nose of flowers, mineral, red and black berries. On the palate, sour cherry, black tea, mushroom, spice, roasted game, black raspberry. Silky mouthfeel with a long finish and tannic grip. Would have liked more time with it, I think it would have filled in more with some air. Still great stuff. Not scored. Gut impression 92-93.
