June 7, 2020 - My very first Romanee Conti was a sublime experience. Amazing nose draws you in and gets the pulse going! In the mouth it expresses perfect balance of complexity, richness an elegance. The finish is over a minute long and allows for reflection how blessed I am to experience this. Time for the next sip, I want to learn more about the layers of taste that are all so harmonically integrated. It’s so easy do drink, so easy to just enjoy. I paired it with a sublime chicken. It‘s a singular experience and should not be enjoyed in a tasting with other wines or even be compared. Is it worth it? Of course the prices are crazy, but it‘s a bucket list experience ✅ and totally worth it!

    May 8, 2020 - Bottle No. 1974/5546

I keep on checking its brightness for years until it’s starting to be #ClearBrightShiny then I make a plan to open it celebrating my 54th birthday a few weeks later.

At this moment, it’s showing freshness like a young lady, classic nose of good Burgundy, well balance with a beautiful Vosne spice in its finish. The best part is aftertaste, full dimensions, amazing power reserved, super very long to be finished, top knot.
    98-99/100

    Young But Promising !!!

Ps. This 2006 Romanee-Conti will fully blossom for the first time at Christmas next year 2021 and If open it at the perfect timing, this wine could get 100/100, IMO.

June 7, 2018 - 2006 RC and 2006 DRC Montrachet dinner - Stanley Cup Final (Proof Restaurant - Washington DC): Expressive complex nose displaying rich red fruit, raspberry jam, a hint of cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg, Vosne spices and earth. Excellent concentration, very finely layered subtle yet decadent red fruit, unctuous yet silky, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a long rich sweet red fruit driven finish. It has reach the first stage of the youthful peak.

August 11, 2012 - DRC Dinner 1 (Sydney, Australia): The most incredibly ethereal nose I've encountered on a wine in recent memory, these were aromas that required serious contemplation - fragrant cherry, raspberry, rose petals, subtle earth and spices, then there is a surging minerality that carries onto the palate. The palate is elegant and has such purity, but then there is stunning depth at the same time, almost more than should be possible from a wine with such finesse. I had this lingering impression of fragility as it is so delicately and perfectly balanced. While it was clearly at an incredibly youthful stage of its life - this is a harmonious and wonderful wine even now.

July 17, 2009 - My First DRC and Many Other Treats (Mirabelle, Austin, TX): This wine was fairly subtle on the nose, but spicy (corriander and allspice) and slightly astringent on the palate with an exceptionally long finish. OK.
