January 14, 2024 - A bit masked by Bizot and Naudin's echezeaux during the meal. I guess I could not make a correct judgement under such circumstances.

February 3, 2023 - A really elegant and lovely display of dark fruit, rhubarb, spice and floral notes. A bit restrained but very nice.

January 12, 2023 - Dinner with RC & friends at China Tang (China Tang, Hong Kong): Deep and vibrant ruby color. On the nose, beautiful delicate notes of blackberry and dark plum, with hints of fresh cut hay and maybe even a little tar. Darker in character than the Chambolle opened side by side. But oh so fine in every way -- fruit is intense and focused, yet dances lightly on the palate; tannins have a youthful structure, but are fine as silk. A pleasure to drink.

November 6, 2022 - A bit shy in the start but after 3 hours decanting the wine was singing. The intensity of Emmanuel Rouget wines and the more green herbaceous style of the vintage 2006 really come together in this bottle.

September 13, 2021 - Showing beautfully, a burst of cinnamon spice and lucsious red plum and raspberry fruit, has you at first sniff and swirl. Rich and rounded the fruit aromas frame ginger and cocoa, depth. Savor this sweet and delicious beauty with scents of the finest and most tender roast meat at the heart of the enchanting and enveloping garden floral bouquet.

May 21, 2020 - Medium dark red; somewhat neutral nose with sweet undertones and light expression; light attack, refined, followed with nice long sweetness which goes on; really inviting; excellent

September 29, 2017 - Served blind, I thought this was an '09 when it came across as fruity, or '03 when it came across as somewhat candied. It was hard to decipher the appelation as well, got very little suggesting Vosne-Romanee.

In the final analysis, the oak is overwhelming the wine at this stage. Give it time to integrate, and someday we may have something here that resembles an Echezeaux.

July 5, 2017 - The 2006 vintages has clearly not been ready for drinking until now and it was with a certain reservation we drank this classy wine from Rouget.
It did deliver! - smooth and rather elegant with a bit edge which did not disturb but on the contrary made the wine more complex.
It can easily cellar many years more but it did not feel wrong to open it now.
The tasting note was dominated by dark fruit and a bit of earthiness which will develop more in the coming years.

June 30, 2017 - Brooding, deep and rustic nose, but combining this with great finesse and transparency. Notes of forest floor, dark berries, some violets. On the palate it has a sweet and lucsious attack, concentrated full-bodied mid palate and a refreshing, acidity driven finish with distinct, but fully mature tannins. Great wine to drink now, preferably with food as it can withstand a lot. Kept fine for two days, so many years left due to high tannic contant (typical 2006 for me). Absolutely the best 2006 I've had so far.
