May 30, 2021 - Blinds dropped off by Z. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Re-tasted in Grassl Cru after reveal next day.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of herbs, rocks, dark red cherries, black cherries, brooding dark earth and slight dark red roses with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, gritty grippy high tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, brooding dark fruits - blackberries and black cherries, brooding dark earth, floral rosewater, bramble spice and wood, tinge of herbal greenness. Bitter chocolate towards the long chewy finish.
Very good quality. Highly interesting wine. Bi-directional - as it seems to be brooding yet elegant, tannic yet medium bodied. Long life ahead for future evolution.

May 29, 2017 - This is still a beast and needs time to open up I would give it 3+ years. Dark fruits, currant and some spice, nice acidity with some aggressive tannins still in the mix. Liked this a lot.

July 17, 2016 - Dark garnet. Discrete nose of dark fruit, licorice, earth, gingerbread. This is not your overt red fruit "happy go lucky" Burgundy. Brooding dark fruit, subtle spices, lots of tannins which are now at age 10 well integrated but still command the structure, good freshness too. I really like the bitter chocolate style finish with aromas of cherry, raspberry, licorice again - long and aristocratic. Early drinking window, decanting advised.

September 5, 2013 - Casual Wines Session on Thursday night (Extra Space, Boon Keng): Medium ruby, subtle bouquet of flower, blackcurrant, cherry and tobacco.
Supple palate, show richness of fruits with freshness and good structure.
Long persistent finish and fine grain tannins.
