November 10, 2018 - 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Remarkably intense and complex nose displaying deeply toned concentrated pure black fruit, lovely sous bois, a hint of soy and black truffle, grilled cep, Vosne spice, Chinese medicine and earth. Perfectly integrated palate, nicely concentrated pure black fruit, remarkably dense yet silky and polished, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, no noticeable tannins and a long concentrated black fruit driven finish with Chinese medicine and soy at the end. It shows more concentrated fruit than the 80s but not as clean and precise. This has reached the secondary peak. If cellared properly, this can easily last a few more decades but will not improve.
