April 23, 2016 - Seems chapitalized with sweetness of fruit not balanced, or fluid, through profile.

February 13, 2016 - Frankly, a little dull. Very drinkable, mind. Dark in the glass, not purplish just very dark red. Plenty of cherry, some light vanilla but not enough to give it any real weight. A bit lacklustre in fruit and body. Short-medium finish. West Bromwich Albion.

March 24, 2014 - no notes. not a complex wine. Earth (much more than US piinot), cherry (darker than US), needed time to open.

December 26, 2013 - Pretty simple and straightforward Vosne that opened up over 90 minutes. As it warmed up from cellar temp, it showed a bit more of the cherry flavors that immediately showed on the nose. A bit light but nice value wine.

January 29, 2012 - Rather closed to start, with a slightly mediciinal nose. This needed a good hour to wake up. Then deeper, darker nose. Still fruity - raspberry / cherry. Some oak wafts in. Slightly granular texture. Balance was fine. Not terribly exciting. Overall fine, but seemed a little in between phases - neither fruity nor secondary.

(Potel Nicolas Vosne-Romanée) Despite the nose starting a little more diffuse than the Gevrey - faint spice and a trace of coffee - I love it when you sniff a wine and can instantly say ‘Vosne’, and here you can. The palate is at the same time understated, but also quite forward - still well controlled though. Ripe tannins and a tight but lovely length.
